'Freedom Eagle' was commissioned by Sandersons Monument Company Ltd. in Orillia, Ontario who crafted all the stone works including the gateway.
The eagle has a 6 foot wing span and was cast in bronze by Research Casting International, Trenton Ontario.
The Residential School Monument was unveiled on National Day of Truth and Reconciliation on September 30, 2024.
